The internet is aflutter with the news that all sources point to a BCS National Championship rematch between undefeated LSU and one-loss Alabama. Get your LSU vs Alabama BCS Championship Tickets while they’re still available! While Oklahoma State will surely cry foul, all eyes will be on them when they play Stanford in the Fiesta Bowl. Buy your Oklahoma State vs Stanford Fiesta Bowl Tickets before they’re all gone! The ACC gets two teams into BCS games with Clemson taking on West Virginia in the Orange Bowl ( Clemson vs West Virginia Orange Bowl Tickets ) and Virginia Tech earning an at-large spot against Michigan in the Sugar Bowl ( Michigan vs Virginia Tech Sugar Bowl Tickets ). Wisconsin and Oregon round out the BCS games with the Rose Bowl match-up. Follow the Badgers to their second straight Rose Bowl with Wisconsin vs Oregon Rose Bowl Tickets.

Outside of the BCS, Ohio State and Florida will meet in the <del>Urban Meyer</del> Gator Bowl. Don’t miss this historic Gator Bowl, get Ohio State vs Florida Gator Bowl Tickets while you can! Baylor will take on Washington in the Alamo Bowl, and you can get Baylor vs Washington Alamo Bowl Tickets here. Marshall and Florida International will meet in the Beef O Brady Bowl. And a high profile match-up in a normally lesser bowl, Penn State will take on Houston in the TicketCity Bowl ( Penn State vs Houston TicketCity Bowl Tickets ).

You can’t take a week off in the world of college football, as each Saturday brings around a bountiful listing of can’t miss college football games. Week two of the college football season is no different, with several iconic match ups available throughout the day.

To kick it off, third ranked Alabama is visiting number 23 Penn State. This is an exciting clash between schools from the BigTen and SEC. Sadly, the two conferences rarely play each other during the regular season, as schools from each conference don’t want to give up valuable home games. Of course, having two major college powerhouses face off in the rare match up helps bring the excitement level to a new high. It’s also a battle between two iconic head coaches with Nick Saban and Joe Paterno. Several coaching positions before taking control of Alabama, Saban headed the Michigan State Spartans, which, at the time, regularly faced off with Penn State to finish off the season, so the two coaches are familiar with one another. In a game with more regional importance than national, South Carolina is taking on Georgia. Hopefully Georgia returns to its standard game uniforms and ditches the glamor threads Nike forced them to wear in an ugly season opener. The border bash between the two schools is big not only for fans living in Georgia or South Carolina, but for SEC standings, as both teams are in the same division of the conference. Winning this game gives either team a leg up on conference competition.

Possibly the crown jewel of the day is the first night game at storied Michigan Stadium (most commonly known as “The Big House”) as the Michigan Wolverines take on Notre Dame. This proves to be an interesting match up as its difficult to really tell how good (or bad) the teams are. Notre Dame killed themselves in a constant delayed bought with South Florida, and Michigan won its opener against Western Michigan in a game that was called before the end of the third quarter. Regardless, the game should be fun to watch. The first night game at Michigan is going to bring a new electricity to the crowd, and during halftime the school is honoring Heisman trophy winner and Super Bowl MVP Desmond Howard. The school is not retiring his number, but instead have a secret planned out, which they are not disclosing currently.

This is absolutely the best time of the year. It’s week one of college football. All over the country, college fans are digging out their lucky shirts and planning parties. Yes, a lot of the games are fluff. But there isn’t anything else like it, and we will all revel in it the entire weekend.

There are a couple of huge games. The biggest, of course, is No. 3 Oregon taking on No. 4 LSU on Saturday night. Oregon has to win this game to have any hope of playing for the national title. Oregon quarterback Darron Thomas will not be suspended related to an off-season incident. Likely Heisman candidate LaMichael James will have the opportunity to showcase his abilities. However, the Ducks will be without starting cornerback Cliff Harris. It may not matter too much because the suspensions of LSU starting quarterback Jordan Jefferson and starting receiver Russell Shepard are certain to slow down their offense. If LSU loses this game, they may still make it into the national title game if they can win the SEC.

The game between No. 5 Boise State and No. 19 Georgia at the Georgia Dome is critical for both teams. Boise State is determined to prove that they belong at the top of college football. Georgia had a losing record last year, and that is totally unacceptable in Athens. Coach Mark Richt probably needs at least nine wins to keep his job. If Georgia can beat Boise State and take care of No. 12 South Carolina the next week, Coach Right has a very good chance of winning the SEC East.

Another game of interest is the contest between No. 16 Notre Dame and the University of South Florida. This year Notre Dame needs to prove that they once again belong at the top of college football. The USF Bulls are not a cupcake team. The Fighting Irish need a strong showing in this game to support their ranking.

It doesn’t matter is your team is playing a national powerhouse or a Division I-AA schedule filler. Enjoy.

Let us know in the comments who you’re rooting for this fall, what match-up you can’t wait to see, or even your favorite football food recipes!

The official announcements won’t be made until tonight at 8pm, but the fog around the 2010-2011 bowl situations is clearing up nicely. The Rose Bowl and Sugar Bowl might as well be set, and half of each the Orange and Fiesta Bowls are locks as well.

Wisconsin vs TCU Rose Bowl Tickets

Ohio State vs Arkansas Sugar Bowl Tickets

The Rose bowl has no choice but to take TCU and Wisconsin, they are required to do so. The Sugar bowl can take anyone in the top of the BCS because the top SEC team is in the title game, but this matchup seems almost too good to pass up. Virginia Tech is a lock after winning the ACC Championship game and Oklahoma is a lock as well as the Big 12 Champ. More updates coming throughout the day as bowls make selections and the official announcements for the BCS games are made tonight!
